On the historic occasion of the 80th Anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day, I had the great honor of representing the Vietnamese community at the Flag Raising Ceremony at Toronto City Hall and Vaughan City Hall. Watching the Vietnamese red flag with a golden star rise alongside the Canadian flag was an unforgettable moment – a symbol of friendship, harmony, and national pride for every Vietnamese living abroad.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Canada Society, the Canada Vietnam Trade Council, and Mr. Roger Linh Mai, who worked alongside the Canada Vietnam Cultural & Educational Council (CVCEC) to organize this meaningful event. Special thanks also to our Vietnamese community for their warm participation, which made the celebration truly remarkable.
The ceremony was further honored by the presence of the Consul General of Cuba in Toronto, city leaders from Toronto and Vaughan, and international friends, adding to the spirit of unity and connection.
A historic milestone was also marked as His Worship Mark Sutcliffe, Mayor of Ottawa, officially issued a Proclamation declaring September 2, 2025, as Vietnam National Day in Ottawa. This recognition is a profound tribute to the Vietnamese community in Canada.
At CVCEC, we remain committed to building bridges through education, culture, and community partnerships, ensuring that the next generation of Vietnamese–Canadians have greater opportunities to grow, contribute, and share the beauty of our heritage with the world.
